LA Fleet Week™ 2024,.

Fleet Week: Los Angeles comes alive with fun for the whole family

Free to the public, this multi-day event attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors to the LA Waterfront in San Pedro.

Fleet Week is an annual celebration of the U.S. Navy, Coast Guard, and Marine Corps hosted in San Pedro. The highlight of the weekend is having the chance to tour active duty vessels from the U.S. Navy and Coastguard.

When you’re not exploring a ship, enjoy live music and special events, and explore numerous exhibits while enjoying delicious food from our vendors.

During the celebration, a tour of the Battleship IOWA gives you a unique opportunity to connect with the U.S. Navy’s proud history. This vessel played an important role in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters during World War II as well as seeing action in the decades that followed.

LA Fleet Week is organized by the LA Fleet Week Foundation, in partnership with the Port of Los Angeles and City of Los Angeles. Other LA Fleet Week™ 2024 sponsors to date include the Annenberg Foundation, Outfront Media, Delta Airlines, Bob Hope USO, Battleship IOWA Museum, The Ahmanson Foundation, Andeavor, UPS, Clyde & Co., Los Angeles Chargers, Phillips 66, Sam’s Club and South Coast Plaza.

Frequently asked questions about LA Fleet Week

What is Los Angeles Fleet Week?

Fleet Week is a multi-day celebration of our Nation’s sea services held each summer in San Pedro just outside Los Angeles.

The event features active duty ship tours, giving you a chance to visit some of the navy’s most up-to-date warships.

In addition to public ship tours, visitors enjoy military displays, equipment demonstrations, aircraft flyovers, live entertainment, and educational activities. Other events include musical performances by military bands, the annual Galley Wars culinary cook-off competition between military branches, and all-around fun for the entire family. This year’s LA Fleet Week event at the Port of Los Angeles will take place over the extended Memorial Day weekend, May 27-29th.

What ships will be present during 2024 Fleet Week?

To protect our military personnel, the vessels that will visit are only announced the week of the event. If you would like to get a sense of the kinds of ships you might see, you can head to the event’s website and look at ships from previous years.

Where will the ships be located?

The active service ships open to public tours will be docked at the Outer Harbor berths in San Pedro. Visitors can only reach the vessels by taking a free shuttle from the main event location: 250 S. Harbor Blvd (right by the Battleship IOWA museum).

Admission to the ships is on a first come, first served basis.

Are Battleship IOWA tours free during Fleet Week?

While tours of the active service ships are free to the public, tickets are required for a visit to the Battleship IOWA. Unlike the other ships, the Navy is no longer paying for its upkeep! Your ticket purchase helps to preserve this unique naval museum for the visitors of tomorrow.
