The idea behind this format is that celebrities are often recognized and praised for the sake of their established fame, and after a while, it is no longer about actual talent. By wearing masks to conceal their identities, celebrities are once again given the opportunity to be appreciated purely on the merits of their talent. What an ironic world we live in – normal people want to be famous and famous people want to be normal.  

There is an added element of fun about having masked singers compete against each other in a reality TV show. Firstly, the masks and costumes are elaborately designed and are truly visual feats.
